Talk to 3-year-olds… they got problems… they can’t reach the doorknob, they can’t get to the cookies on top of a dinner table or kitchen counter. They are little frustrated human beings! The difference between us and them… we’d look rather silly standing there bawling and crying.
Problems! We all have them. What makes one person different from the other… even faced with the same problems…? The way they chose to react to the problem. One person may become emotionally paralyzed, while the other may choose to change the word problem to -> Challenge and see the problem as a test to overcome.
Life offers opportunities through these so-called “problems” to learn how to handle the moments, to develop acuity of sight and mind so we can better afront similar issues in the future.
I for one agree with many… that first instant, when faced with a challenge, can be rather shocking… what I try to do is to become fascinated by the moment and attempt to learn more by being fascinated with life than by being frustrated by the moment – which will not be forever.
Sometimes I also find that creating distance or taking switching to another activity allows for some relief in the mind. Sometimes we just get all worked up that we tend to become part of the problem. I have discovered that taking a break has helped me re-energize allowing me to come back with a different mindset – you may want to try this approach and see if it will help you see new ways to approach your situation. Perhaps you may find that there was no problem after all.
