Saturday was a double discovery day. While on my way to a consultation I chanced upon a quaint bookstore in the middle of a plaza.
Come with me today as I take you back there
The pretty short haired cherry blond lady at the counter welcomed us with a smile. This was no ordinary bookstore, this was a used bookstore. The feeling of old hidden treasures crackled in the air. The old style register box and dainty Tiffany lamp gave the feeling that I was visiting an old friend. Shelby who is one of the store owners sure made me feel that way.
In this peaceful and serene setting her two white haired dog companions, Lady Jane and Lord Henry kept guard in their sound sleep – they did occasionally open an eye to let me know they were keeping an eye on things.
Oh, I must share a tidbit about the picture on this caption! While Shelby and I were posing for the picture, if you look to the right you will notice Lady Janes’ backside (I know, she’s being rather un-lady like). Lady Jane decided that she would have a taste of Shelby’s coffee. Lady Jane, in her lady-doggie way knocked over Shelby’s coffee spilling it onto the counter top and made herself quite busy lapping away and enjoy every bit of it. Thank you Shelby, for allowing me into your world.
Books are treasures, no matter how tattered and old they hold adventures, wisdom and help you connect to a world beyond worlds.
If today you had a chance to look at those around you as you would a book, not judging them by their looks and background… what wisdom and stories would you enjoy? A book’s purpose is to be read, perhaps if you dare take some action, go on that adventure, try that new recipe, try that new work-out routine, or try approaching an old challenge with a new strategy…
like an old book, it demands only that you take action.
What if today you did treat those around you as a book… their purpose is to be heard, nothing more…just listen, and if you like… take that action, try that new suggestion, with no demands; how much richer could your life be?

Just a couple of fine ladys having fun!
