This may be random thing I wanted to share about the Olympic games. One of my favorite parts besides the gymnastics is… the torch relay and lighting of the torch –
Traditionally the torch is initially lit in Southern Greece since the games started in Olympia in the 8th century BC. They re-enact this memorable moment with a ‘high Priestess’ lighting the torch using the suns rays.
This Olympic season the torch is carried to Brazil (where the games are being hosted) via a relay of at least 10,000 runners!

The torch of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was lit in southern Greece on Thursday (April 21).

This last video is the flame of Olympia arrives in Brazil to its final destination where it will remain lit until the closing of the event.
