Did you know that everyone is focused at any given moment? Many of us would like to believe that we are multi-taskers when in fact we are doing one thing at a time. Sure we can walk, be on the phone and hold our cup of coffee… but our mind will latch on to one thought at a time.
It’s like looking at the computer screen, while looking at it everything else goes out of focus, because we are giving attention at what is on the screen. That which we focus on grows, this is the basic core of what most refer to the law of attraction. If we are too busy looking at our ‘problems’ (which I normally like to call challenges), then we don’t have much time to see the solutions even if they were in front of us.
What you focus on grows.
Scattered thoughts don’t allow us to move forward very fast, they’re like having sticks thrown at our feet. If we have a gazillion thoughts running through our mind at one time and would like to begin experiencing clarity, an exercise that I find handy is what I call: Catch the butterfly. (it is an exercise of imagination) See yourself in the pool of thoughts in your head walking around with a butterfly net, catch a thought and see how long you can hold it. The longer you hold it the clearer it will become because now you can look in the net and inspect it. When you’re done let it go and watch it flutter away. (chase another one, catch it and release)
You will be surprised to find yourself more peaceful and pleasant to be around with.
Daisy Says: Begin to experience the power of one thought.
“The word pay in ‘pay attention’ is quite apt. As consciousness beings, attention is our most precious commodity. Attention is a piece of our consciousness, a slice of our human life.” (Richard Brodie)
