Discipline and Self Control are tools to achieve goals and accomplish dreams.
We can experience the best this life has to offer through discipline and self control. The fruit of the spirit is self control; sometimes it may seem like a struggle to make the choice and pay the price of discipline and not just do what we feel.
Most often than not we are out of control in our spending, our emotions, our eating, our attitudes, lazy, and in general we are not taking charge of our life.
Perhaps this may seem like an oxymoron, but could it be that the freedom we seek can only come when we take charge and discipline our urges? Having a plan is like having a road map, all it needs is consistent execution.
Each and everyone of us have the ability to take charge of our life through discipline and self control. Just like a muscle the more we develop discipline and self control the easier it will be to exercise discipline and self control at crucial decision making moments in our life.
Every time we take the easy way out we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to exercise discipline and self control. I know many (myself included) don’t want to pay the price that is required of discipline and self control. The challenge is to do what is right even if it is going to inconvenience us and make us feel uncomfortable; rest assured that discipline will produce great rewards. I can say this, because in various areas of my life I do exercise discipline and self control and I feel that I am free from hang ups and anguish.
There are two kinds of pain, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. The price of discipline is far less to pay then the price of regrets. It’s painful to look back and see how we’ve wasted weeks or months just because we were not willing to pay the price to exercise self control and discipline.
Discipline ensures us a bright tomorrow.
Discipline in finance allows us to enjoy a more bountiful life
Discipline in eating habits allows us to enjoy a healthier life
Discipline in controlling negative thoughts allows us to enjoy a happier life
Just like it takes time to form bad habits it takes time to form good habits.
Discipline and self-control means we need to stay the course despite how uncomfortable we may feel as we reign in the temptation to do otherwise.
Daisy Says: Self discipline is the dividing line between mediocrity and excellence.
