We create Joy and we create problems.
When we create Joy we create laughter; when we create problems, we create pain.
The time is the same, the question is how we intend to use it. What do we want to create with it?
If we are tired of living in pain, all it takes is a single choice – a simple decision that no matter what happens we will no longer create pain by trying to live in the future or in the past.
Really.
It is that simple.
Have you ever noticed that if you focus on this very moment… take away the woes of the past and the worries of the unforeseen future, the present leaves you existing in a calm zone?
Let me ask you a couple of questions. Are you worried most of the time? Do you have many ‘what if’ thoughts about the future? If your answer is, ‘yes’, ask yourself what ‘problem’ you have right now, not tomorrow, not five minutes from now, but——right now?
I have found that there aren’t any problems in the present moment. All our problems are about the future and our worries are about the past.
How much of our lives do we spend waiting for the next holiday, a better job, our child to grow up, success, to make money, be important, become enlightened? (etc, etc…the list can go on)
‘Waiting is a state of mind. Basically it means we want the future, we don’t want the present.” *Excerpt from: Beyond Positive Thinking by Dr. Robert Anthony (the book offers step-by-step methods and positive visualization techniques to help readers trust creativity, transcend old beliefs and limitations, and turn positive thinking into positive action. Originally published in 1988 Berkley Publishing under the title of “The Advanced Formula For Total Success.” For 13 years it continued to sell under that title. As soon as it went out of print in 2002, it became a collector’s item with copies selling for up to $100 per copy on the Amazon.com used books marketplace. The book was then republished under the new title)
I suppose we are on a journey; a journey towards life experience… which can only be accomplished moving through the “moments”.
So why not, while we are on this journey, to vision the place we want to go; this is what most call visualization – when we were kids, they called it daydreaming – this visualization is a process of creating a positive future in your minds eye… which is different than ‘worrying’ about what will happen. The place you create does not have to be a “physical location”; it can be a state of being. Vision your ultimate state of being and imagine how you will feel.
Most important, do not forget the only thing that is ultimately real about your journey —> the steps you are taking in the present moment.
Daisy Says: I choose this moment.
