Discovering new places in around town is a fun experience. This weekend I discovered this beautiful botanical garden in the heart of Orlando, Florida. The Harry P. Leu Gardens is on 50 acres, you get to see beautiful views of Lake Rowena as well as plush colorful landscaped gardens with winding paths.
There were many ‘special’ places to sit with your honey and take in the fresh air. My favorites were the rows of tall oak trees which provided the most beautiful canopy and sweet shade from the ever so warm Florida sun; then there was the little house jutting from the orange grove with the two rocking chairs in the porch which had my mind traveling back in time thinking of how wonderful lazy afternoons must have been sharing a tall glass of freshly made lemonade with friends. I also loved meandering through the herb and butterfly gardens.
I was so enjoying the gardens that I never had a chance to go and take the tour of Harry Leu’s home which is now on the National Register of Historic Places. The home dates back to the 1880’s. ahhh…nothing like having an excuse to return.
