Mittens loves loves gardening. |
We love our cats… each one is special and has its own personality. They’ve taught us so much.
We moved into our small town in 2009 and in 2011 a local neighbor said… well you can’t have a barn without having a barn cat; and within a few days, she brings a cat inside a birdcage. How convenient.
The kitty was 2 months old and definitely needed a home… and we had the barn. That’s how Miss Helen joined our family.
Mittens (and Mr. Chubs no longer with us) were discovered in the attic at Geordans house while remodeling back in 2014.
Meesho was discovered by Geordan after hearing the mewing sounds at the edge of the property back in 2015. Meesho was about 2 months old or maybe younger… when he joined our family. For a few days we had to keep him outside and his favorite resting spot was inside empty plant pots.
Little Bear joined our family in 2016 after losing Mr. Chubs. Our then-Mayor – Buddy Snowden and his wife Pat, took in a litter; one of them was black just like Mr. Chubs. He insisted we take him in… and we did. Fell in love with him right away. Little Bear thinks he is a big bear, here he is napping in the harvest basket.
Update: September 2020
Enter the Twins. Our son Geordan after moving out decides he wants to get kittens. He goes to the rescue shelter to bring a kitty home and well… he did not have the heart to break up a brother-sister team. He underestimated his work and school schedule, and after leaving the kittens lonely at home for the most part of the day he felt that it was not healthy – and here we go, now we are up to six.
The twins love sticking together.
