A long time ago… so it seems, (I would say in my early twenties) – I pondered on this thing called life and realized that how we approach this concept affects how we feel and respond to our environment.
A while back, I ran into an article by Lynette Landing exactly about what I was thinking… and creepy like… she expressed it the way I felt it – life is a game.
So think about that… pretty much how you approach a game, will be how you live life. One can be excited about opportunities or paralyzed by them. One can be challenged by changes or obstacles or one can be struck with fear and indecision. When things don’t go your way you can chose to be angry and vindictive or respond with awe and inquiry. Either way how we choose to play this game called Life may be one of the critical things we do.
(here is a doctored excerpt of her article)
The object of the Game is to create, have fun, experience, and love.
(just because life is so random we’ll start with 3)
3. There is no competition, no rush to the finish line. Life just IS.
4. You have a team… your team is connected to you even though you won’t be able to see them.
5. Your teammates hold the key to knowledge, abundance, connections and whatever else you need and they can only supply these things to you if you ask.
6. You will choose a “purpose” for the Game and your goal is to always remember (because living on purpose will bring you complete fulfillment).
7. You will choose a vehicle (mind and body) that will stay with you throughout the Game. Treat your vehicle kindly and it will be your best friend.
8. Once you begin the Game, an Ego will find you and accompany you on your journey.
9. Ego’s goal is to stop you from remembering that you are a Spirit and to stop you from remembering your purpose. … just the kind of distraction you need to keep you on your toes.
10. Ego has a bag of tricks that include fear, limiting beliefs, obstacles, lack of self-worth, separation for your team…and other silly illusions.
11. Ego’s illusions have no power over you unless you allow them to. Remember, ego wants you to forget that you are a Spirit and much more resilient than it.
12. If and when Ego starts to get in the way of your fun or your purpose, consult your team who will diminish Ego’s power.
13. The game will end when the timer goes off. What you don’t remember also is… You will set the timer before you begin the game.
14. Have as much fun as possible!
15. The key to getting the most enjoyment out of the game of “LIFE” is to:
a. Keep Ego in check
b. Access your team regularly
c. Love and take care of your vehicle.
