I learned one of life’s simple truths from playing in my sandbox (my sandbox didn’t have walls so I created a circle –and played in my ‘sandcircle’). I would build buildings and roads, passageways and rivers. One day as I played in my sandcircle an adult came by looked at my creation and said: ‘too bad it wont last very long” I replied: “it’s okay… nothing we build here will last very long”.
It seems that at age 5 I had more commonsense than as I grew older.
Did you ever have a sandbox box? Remember? It’s that thing about 4 ft. long and about four ft. wide filled with approximately six inches of dry sand.
The basis of a whole world is created in this sandbox… you can wet the sand and build a whole world:
gardens, castles and house shapes, mountains valleys and all types of other things. Kingdoms have been built and destroyed in a matter of minutes in sandboxes.
It’s not a bad idea regardless of age to regain our child-heart and remember that life is like sandbox; we build everything we can think of.. we build empires, we add tin soldiers and have battles; we put little animals and build pastures and farms.
Life is not different from a sandbox. Some sandboxes can be more intricate than others. For some of us the sandbox is there but because of smog (which is usually created by our own self) we cant see the sandbox.
The sandbox is very important it is a miniature of our universe.
We are all playing in sandboxes.
… and we are all playing in the same sandbox (just a large sandbox). Each new person comes along and knocks down the previous castle and puts their own (some people call this ‘progress’)
The key thing here is to understand that we are imagining and creating the things that will make a better sandbox.
Unlike adults, children are the lucky ones whose innocence allows them to know that it is all in the sandbox. The child has not developed prejudice and deceit which destroys the child-heart.
We as adults forgot … we take ourselves too seriously.
The child-heart regardless of age.. simply sees reality; simply sees things for what they are.
Many of us lost the child-heart due to trouble or even success.
I suggest for us to retrieve our child-heart. Let’s realize we are responsible for our own feelings… and begin to remember that we are part of a master plan.
Let’s recall our child-heart where all was good. That goodness has never left us, it is still there. We ourselves have placed the veil.
Chase your child-heart… let’s become children again.
Take time now and remember all that is good of your inner child… all that is beauty and all that is true and regain your integrity.
Outgrow your mistakes, and discover the real dimension of your sandbox. Begin playing in your sandbox and dig inside yourself and find all your greatness. Do this by spending time quietly with yourself. It’s like the child nap time… the quiet time. (what every child should be taught) so we can learn the simplicity of the divine.
It’s not too late to play in the sandbox and unfold the potential of your amazing life.
