So many times I’ve heard this piece called Minuet No. 3 by Johann Sebastian Bach – this distinct music is very identifiable due to the slow dotted-note rhythm in duple meter followed by a fast fugal section; a Baroque style which was popular in Germany during Bach’s day.
Would it be a coincidence that when we were selecting a name for our only son – (took nearly 9 months for both George and I to agree with a name that best resonated true to us), Sebastian was a name on my list; George said that the name Sebastian did not resonate with what he thought would be the nature of our son Geordan. Now years later Geordan’s first musical recital is a piece by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Three months ago my son had not read sheet music nor ever touched a violin and now three months later he is playing a violin in front of 200 people in an orchestra. Could a mother be more proud?
My cup overflows.
Now the question is… could the name Sebastian entering Geordan’s life at this stage of his life as he begins embracing an inner passion be a trigger validating his course in life? Ah, I am left here to only ponder what adventures lie ahead in the chapters of his life. For now, this is a sweet chapter that I’m taking in with all my heart.
