This blog is dedicated to my aunt Eri Rodriguez who holds a special place in my heart. (It will be posted with Spanish translation just for her)
I don’t know when I knew, but I knew that when I was with her I was safe and happy.

Those early years of my life were magical… I knew there was a hand I could hold out to and hers would always reach back.
When the ocean came between us my heart tore in two… yet time has a way of healing and Love is unchanging… for love is Love.
“Esos primeros años de mi vida fueron mágia … Sabía que había una mano que podía encontrar en las oscuridad. – Cuando el océano se interpuso entre nosotros mi corazón rasgó en dos … pero el tiempo tiene una forma de sanación y amor es inmutable … porque el amor es amor .”
We are ten years apart… and I have seen her grow right before my eyes – and she’s seen me grow and stumble forward.
I have seen her fall in love, I have seen her mad and happy… I have seen her become a mother and a grandmother. She’s been brave… for it is painful to be the tall sail still blowing in the wind… my dad, my uncle Daniel, papaito and mamaita all passed away. My heart fills with admiration at how she pulls through every time.
“Estamos a diez años de diferencia … y la he visto crecer delante de mis ojos – y ella me ha visto crecer mientras tropiezo hacia adelante. – La he visto amar, he visto su felicidad y tristezas. Per mas, la he visto a convertirse en madre y abuela . Ella ha sido valiente … porque es doloroso ser la vela que sigue soplando en el viento … mi papá , mi tío Daniel , Papaito y mamaíta todos fallecieron . Con el pasar del teimpo mi corazón se llena de admiración.”
Life is not journeyed without trials and tribulations… but God is so amazing that he gave us Love. For those that are not afraid to love, then Love comes back tenfold making all those tribulations but a passing storm amidst an ocean of Love.
“La vida no se transita sin pruebas y tribulaciones … pero Dios es tan increíble que nos dio AMOR. – Aquellos que no temen AMAR, entonces el amor les regresa diez veces convirtiendo todas esas tribulaciones simplemente en tormentas pasajera en medio de un océano de amor .”
