Where does time go?
One minute we are kids being told by our parents when to go to bed… and before you know it, life happened, we grew up and we have kids of our own. As happened with my little brother Edwin who was blessed to have two lovely daughters.
I had the pleasure of spending the day with Jackie, who came up to visit from Orlando. Just like that, she decided to move to Central Florida – I am sure it will take a bit before the full weight of not having Jackie around will hit my little brother. I have been fortunate that Geordan has not moved too far, but truly he is so busy with designing his life that we go sometimes weeks before we see him.
It’s still awkward when I see my nieces driving, like, when did that happen?
We drove into DeLand and stopped at Santorini for Greek lunch, I was so delightful to see her smile when they brought the Saganaki flaming cheese… of course we had to shout “OPAH!”. Afterwards we dove into probably every boutique store without excluding Pat & Toni’s Sweet Things where we made sure to satiate our sweet tooth with several chocolate pieces and fudge.
I’ve learned in life that “THINGS” are not as important as is the “TIME” we share with each other, as well as the memories we choose to cherish in our hearts. This day definitely one to be cherished.
Life. Enjoy the Journey.
