Have you ever felt that you’re stuck in time and that you’re not making much progress? I’ve been there… feels like I’m treading in mud. I’ve come to believe that this stuck in time feeling is due to our goals have lost their meaning or their purpose.
We probably are doing things out of need… and it keeps us where we are.
I recall moments of clarity and total focus; wow, things got done! So, imagine if we did things with purpose, we would watch our life turn around and we would become magnetized. The Zing! (ya, I like that word)
Putting our goals into context of what it is that we are ultimately looking to achieve helps us inject passion and meaning into the projects (or the plan… the steps- whatever) that get us to our final outcome.
From personal experience I can say that were it not for passion… I would not be involved in the charity work that I do. Some may measure success by the material gains, I won’t deny those are some fabulous perks… yet there is more than what our eyes can see; there is that twinkle in the eyes, the pep in the walk and the song in the voice- yes, that is what I’m after! (money can’t buy that). Injecting purpose into my life by helping to bring awareness to others about the things I love has changed the landscape of my life.
Just know that when you bring purpose into your life you don’t have to force yourself into action because you are doing the work you like and you immerse yourself into it. You then align passion with your purpose, you’ll have far more energy and get far more done. This applies to every aspect of your life, whether it is a personal goal of losing weight, attracting a mate or improving your lifestyle.
Daisy Says: Do not live in the ‘need’ basis… experience life through purpose!
Tensionless… how delightful Jon, sounds like free-fall to me. Okay, I’m in!!
“What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.” (Victor E. Frankl)
