article for the NewsJournal by Kathleen Rasche
We want to thank all those that came to swap their seeds, clippings, tubers as well as their stories and tips. Mostly for those that got stuck with us in the abrupt shower.
We learned that gardeners are amazing people, no one wanted to leave, people were huddled either under the carport or under the tent just laughing and talking while the rain just poured on down. Mostly we learned that we have some amazing friends! We love you and we thank you for being in our lives. Thank you to Diane and Jada Farley, De D’Onofrio for all your support (mostly for the dancing sunflower – looking back now, I think that the sunshine that we DID have was due to it’s magical powers); thank you to Jane Tryzbiak at the Wedding Place and More for setting up tent and tables and special thank to our niece Ariana Rodriguez for painting the parking signs and baking cookies. Also to Janet Gray and Becky Jones for coming out to play with us.
Also we thank the News Journal and HomeTown News for coming out and sharing our story.
Thank you also to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds for their generous donation of seeds.
ps… wish I could have taken pictures of the all of us getting drenched…but being here in person would have been the only way to have taken in the full impact of how much fun we had in the rain… I know the kids enjoyed it!
