March is here and Spring is on its way!
The chickens seem to enjoy their new spot out in the grove; and I’m sooooo happy that my veggies may have a chance at growing!
When I add new chicks to my flock I like doing them in odd numbers. For some reason they tend to flock together.
What says Spring? Why bees! love love love the buzzing of bees around my garden.
We’ve been growing these Florida peaches for some time, but this is the first year we’ve had the blooms!
I like to keep a hedge of these wild Florida black berries which trail along the fence line. The best time to plant blackberries in Florida is from December to February. In our area, most blackberries are ripe for picking from May to June.
I tilled this patch for my three sisters: corn, bush bean and small pumpkin. (I should have planted the snapping bean since it likes to crawl) – I mixed the soil with cow compost and now it will be ready for seeds!
Molly and Rocco trotting over to say hello.
Just look at the lovely the elderberry bush. I’m letting the new shoots pull up, hopefully I can make a little elderberry forest here.
Isn’t this lovely? This is a nectarine bloom.
Last month I trimmed back the lemon grass and now it’s slowly growing back. This patch here will have basil and thyme… I may throw a couple of mammoth sunflowers so they can serve as sentinels in the garden.
