No skyscraper has ever been built by one person. It takes teamwork, people from every walk of life and varying experience levels coming together and working together.
• No steel mill worker = no steel = no building.
• No glassmaker = no windows = no building.
• No makers of carpet, tile, marble, lumber, air-conditioning, drywall,
concrete, paint, shingles, plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, tar
paper, drywall compound, elevators, mortar, bricks, paintbrush,
doors, crown molding, wallpaper, nails, screws, lights, cabinets, etc.
= no skyscraper.
It is the same with you…
You ARE the skyscraper.
In the building of you -“the skyscraper”- many factors have come together to give you the foundation so that the ‘conscience you’ can take over and continue the work.
When you first hear about personal development, it encompasses many aspects such as body, mind, and spirit. Tackling all of these at once may burn you out pretty fast.
Every magnificent skyscraper has a strong foundation.
How is your foundation?
Do you have a solid base or are you building on sand? How do you handle the setbacks in your life, how do you deal with negative people and environments? Do you allow the stiff winds to erode at your structure?
A strong foundation helps us build space and discipline. Space is needed to allow for great things in your life; it is also important to rid of fear and old negative habits and thought patterns in order to allow for new invigorating ideas and energy.
The second part is the discipline. Discipline is when we train ourselves to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior; it is about consciously making the choice that is most in alignment with who we are in any given moment. Discipline requires you to know your-Self.
Some people may feel threatened when you make a passionate push to ‘grow’, (especially those closest to you) they will complain and criticize – just understand that it is their fears that make them react that way, and as you grow some will come to appreciate your transformation.
Daisy Says: Build your”Self” through your daily experiences, evaluate your thoughts and actions and soon your skyscraping Self will be touching the stars!
