Do you ever work with a “to-do” list? Many successful people swear by it.
Many busy people get more done because of it.
I have noticed that when I write things down it gives me a different perspective, I even end up adding more to my list.
Could it be said that people with “to-do” lists get more accomplished then people with none?
Some people say they keep their list in their head. Yet, transferring the list to paper can provide clarity and unload the brain (wouldn’t you agree?).
When I make a DECISION to prepare my “to-do” list I use the following guide:
1. I set realistic goals. (for the day)
2. I then break my goals down to manageable proportions.
3. (I maintain a flexible approach) At first I would try to rush through my first items… then as I matured I realized that by pacing myself within my time frame I was ensuring more consistency of accomplishment.
4. Another thing that helps is staying focused on the HERE and NOW. If something didn’t get done yesterday, do it …now.
5. Lastly, the best part is the reward. Not only the sense of a task completed, but also a celebration that new roads can be traveled!
