Yes… me in a Fedora hat to the beach… hey! This is Florida, cause any hat counts as a beach hat.
Turtle Mound is a hidden treasure located south of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on State Road A1A.
Recorded on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is the largest shell midden on the mainland United States, known as a prehistoric archaeological site – named after The turtle-shaped mound which contains oysters and refuse from the prehistoric Timucuan people.
A wonderful Florida beach – worth the trip (plus the $10 parking).
